Plain language, because permits are confusing enough already.
The short version
Pinned Route reads your permit, builds your route, and keeps that route on your device. We don't sell location data, and we don't build a history of everywhere you've driven.
What we collect
- Permit data you upload or scan — used only to extract route coordinates and build your navigation.
- Basic account information (email address) if you sign up for the beta program, so we can reach you about access and updates.
- Crash and error reports, used only to fix bugs in the scanning and route-matching process.
What we don't do
- We don't track your live location or trip history.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't require an account just to scan a permit.
Where your route data lives
Extracted route data is processed to build your navigation and is stored on your device. Permit images are used for extraction and are not retained longer than needed to complete that process.
Beta program
Because Pinned Route is in beta, we may collect additional diagnostic information (such as which permit formats succeed or fail to scan) specifically to improve accuracy. This is aggregated and not tied to your identity beyond what's needed to respond to a support request.
Your choices
You can request deletion of any account information we hold at any time by emailing us. Since we don't retain a route history tied to your identity, there's typically nothing further to delete beyond your contact details.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and note the date above.
